Day 55: Guitar

I love the guitar. I think it's a very fun instrument. I took lessons for a bit, but then had to quit. I would love to pick it up again someday and learn more.

Day 53: Candy Dish

I grew up in San Jose, California not too far from where my Dad was born and raised. We visited my Grandparents a lot. One of our favorite things about going to our Grandparents house was getting to raid the candy dish. They had one very similar to the one pictured here. We would always try to open it, take out some candy, and close it without making a sound. I'm not sure why we didn't want to make a sound, Grandma would always make sure it was filled for us. We just liked to be silly and sneaky I think.
My sister found a candy dish like this on eBay. Luckily, I was able to find one too a little while later. I love being able to carry on traditions. Although this isn't the candy dish my Grandparents owned, it still makes me think of them every time I see it. Even now, whenever one of us opens the candy dish, we try to do it without making a noise.

Day 52: I'm A Crest Girl!!

Isn't it interesting how some things that you grow up with, you can't seem to let go of. I grew up using Crest toothpaste, and can't really use anything else. Believe me, I've tried. In some cases, if we grew up with a lot of a certain thing, we want to use, eat, see anything but that.
But me, I am a crest girl. Always have been, always will be.

Day 51: Honu

When I lived in Hawaii, I fell in love with turtles. The Hawaiian word for turtles is honu. I got to swim with turtles while snorkeling, and even lived at "Turtle Bay". I loved the cute way the turtles were drawn there and you could find them on anything... necklaces, rubber slippers, shirts, lunch bags, etc. I have collected several turtles over the years. I can't wait to go back to Hawaii one day and take my husband!! Hopefully we can snorkel and see some turtles.

Day 50: RummiQ

I love this game. I first played it with some friends in Hawaii. We would stay up till all hours of the night playing. I remember one time my friend Nola made me stay at her house and keep playing until she won a game. When we played at my house, I tried to cheat by "dropping" something, so that when I went to pick it up I could look at the tiles since my table was glass.
Now I enjoy playing it with my husband.
